Asiana Airlines Inc. (Hangul: 아시아나 항공; RR: Asiana Hanggong; KRX: 020560; formerly Seoul Airlines).
Pan Am Flight 214, a Boeing 707-121 registered as N709PA, was en route from Baltimore to Philadelphia on December 8, 1963, when it crashed near Elkton, Maryland after being hit by lightning, killing all 81 on board.

At around 3:30 p.m. EST, a Boeing 777 operated by Asiana Airlines, flight 214, from Seoul, South Korea, crash landed at San Francisco International Airport.
Twitter user Eunice Bird Rah tells CNN that her father was on the plane and said it was obviously approaching the runway too low and missed the end before skidding out of control.
Update: Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg had planned to be on the flight but switched at the last minute, as she explained in a Facebook post.
Sandberg was referring to David Eun, a former Google exec, former president of AOL's media and studios division, and current Samsung content exec, who walked away from the crash landing and tweeted: "I just crash landed at SFO. Tail ripped off. Most everyone seems fine. I'm ok. Surreal..."
Eun said he thought most of the passengers walked away from the crash.
